Brian Elrod

He is a retired teacher, and when the government closed over money he offered his services, on the grounds that teachers spend whole careers being expected to produce results out of almost no budget and therefore know a great deal about stretching nothing.

His best line concerns prospecting: the standard in this industry is so poor that anybody halfway competent stands out immediately. That is encouraging and slightly damning at once, and he means both readings.

He also insists that when a business fails there is exactly one person carrying the blame, and works through every available excuse one at a time before arriving back at the owner each time.

One post asks whether you have a plan for the next five years covering the things you own rather than the things you earn, which is a different question from the one people usually put to themselves.

Eleven posts. Read the prospecting one, then the one about blame.
