Giving with Love – Amazing Experience at the Dallas Empower Network Event

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Hey, it’s Trisha, riding in the co-pilot seat as we travel back from Dallas.
The Empower Network regional event in Dallas was so packed with inspiring speakers that my mind and heart stayed completely focused on absorbing as much as I could in those three days.
I’ll be sharing more and more from my dozens of pages of notes in the next few days…but this story just couldn’t wait any longer.
This event was one of Empower Network’s regional events and with the launch of the Blog Beast, we were chomping at the bit to hear from the leaders about the success of the launch and how we can continue to build our business with the new mobile blogging platform.
Yes, we’re entrepreneurs and yes, we come to these events to receive information and knowledge about growing our businesses, but it’s about so much more than the money we desire to make.
Have you ever witnessed the love of giving?

I did several years ago when our 17 year old son was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia and required a bone marrow transplant.  I was completely overwhelmed and filled with humble gratitude as friends and strangers contributed to a fund to help with the expenses.

I witnessed this again at the event and tears of joy and gratitude again filled my eyes.
This is what happened.  There were two families there who had sacrificed everything to get to the event.  They came to Dallas because they KNEW it was exactly where they needed to be…but the expenses of the trip put them in dire straits.
(If you don’t understand this kind of passion and determination to get to the next event…it’s because you haven’t been to one of these events… yet.)
These two families had used up all their resources to be there…and didn’t know how they would make the trip back home. One woman was even sleeping in her car in the hotel parking garage.
When the news of their situation reached the ears of Nicole Cooper, one of the top earners in Empower Network and the MC of the event, the schedule for the afternoon changed instantly.
Nicole asked the crowd to help these two families.  Immediately, two long lines were formed with people reaching into their pockets to help these fellow teammates.
It was a beautiful experience…hearts reaching out to help, hands clasped as money was given, hugs shared as tears of gratitude flowed from both the giver and receiver.

That is the kind of family we have here.
Yes, we teach how to build a business, how to break free… how to make money from home by blogging…

but we also learn how to be more, do more and have more by giving.

“If there be any truer measure of a man than by what he does, it must be by what he gives.” — Robert South
