I discovered a really usefull ebook today that I want to share.
Since being on the Empower Network viral blogging system for the last 14 days, I’ve been playing around with the platform, blogging everyday, and learning a lot about internet marketing, blogging, and business. I’ve also been reading what other people have to say about online marketing, particularily the work of Seth Godin – an entrepreneur and blogger who thinks about the marketing of ideas in the digital age.
The book I’m going to share is about blogging, one of the main ways to brand and market yourself or your business, and one of the main ways to generate income on the Empower Network platform. This free ebook was written in 2005 by Seth Godin.
You might be thinking that something written in 2005 would be outdated by now, given the fast rate at which the internet evolves. I felt the same way and trust me, after reading this ebook I actually felt up to date about what blogging really is.
The ebook is called “Who’s There” and it’s the second part of a three part ebook series by Seth.

I’m starting to get a better understanding of how viral blogging works. Anytime I read any of Seth’s work, I feel a little more enlightened, and can’t help but think how much of a genius this guy is.
I feel like finding this ebook was was an important step in me understanding internet marketing and communication.
The world really is changing second by second, but the thing about this change is that it’s not noticable. It’s not noticable because it’s not happening ‘out there’ (the physical world) it’s happening ‘in here’ i.e (the online world). It’s becoming more clear to me that the marketplace is moving and has been moving since the social media revolution started in around 2003.
New concepts have taken over the minds of business people like online presence, traffic, and viral marketing. The ‘New Media’ (another term by Seth Godin) allows people reach a larger target market, develop an online community, and spread ideas that change the world. The big deal is scalablility.
I have to admit that I’m just waking up to this online reality from a marketing point of view. The reason for this is that I was a strict science student and had never before gave serious consideration to marketing. But now, the online marketing world is starting to unfold. I may be a late adopter, but I’m excited to now be a part of the global marketplace.
