Entrepreneurship with Sonia Stringer

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

I decided not to post a hip-hop video today.

Two weeks ago I started something called Hip Hop Saturdays, where I feature a hip-hop-hustling video every Saturday (as the name suggests). I now feel restricted by that plan and the last thing I want is another box to go into.

So, from now on there will be no schedule for the type of content I post. It’s going to be unpredictable and spontaneous…just the way I like it.

What I woke up thinking about today, was why I stayed up so late last night. I was up until around 3 a.m. Usually when this happens I discovered some compelling content, or new personality online that hooks me. Last night was no different.

I stumbled across the work of a woman called Sonia Stringer. She’s ‘THE business coach for women’ and deservedly so.

I discovered her on Facebook, where I got a link to her Magic Words free webinar yesterday – which of course I tuned into. I think I was the only guy in the chatroom of over 1000 women.

All I have to say is TGFI (Thank God For the Internet) – because I’d really stand out in a women’s only conference in the ‘real world’.

Entrepreneurship with Sonia Stringer

If you’re into persuasion/influencing people you’ll want to listen up to what got from this webinar…

Now from what I understand, Sonia Stringer’s Magic Words program teaches businesswomen how to elegantly inspire clients/customers/prospects to say YES.

I have to point out however that the Magic Words aren’t just canned scripts, but word formulas – there’s a great difference in flexibility and power between the two.

Her target market is businesswomen and women entrepreneurs, particularly in the Network Marketing/Direct Selling profession (I love that using that term profession). She address all the challenges of Network Marketing such as recruiting and selling, but from a linguistics angle.

She teaches from her own experience in selling/persuasion and bases her coaching on this realisation:

“The problem is not what we do, but what we say.”

Her use of word formulas provide a shift in our whole way of thinking that gives you an comfortable way out of the pushy salesman syndrome while effectively communicating your product/opportunity. The success stories were also awe inspiring.

  • One example I got was to change the words you use from I to you. This shifts the attention from me to you, which is who it’s all about. (funny how simple it is, yet we miss this all the time)
  • Another gem is not to talk about features, but to talk about benefits/results/feelings. This gets people to see the VALUE in what you have.
  • The last tip is Profiling – identifying your ideal client/customer so you can know WHERE to find them.

I’f you are a woman who wants to increase your sales/recruiting in MLM while being authentic, you should definitely check out Sonia’s trainings. I got a lot from it, and I’ve only seen her free material.

And an interesting fact that reflects a shift in the working world:

In the United States 400 women leave their corporate jobs DAILY to become an entrepreneur.

To the future,

Brian Morris
