Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Odds are, you are looking to find out how to use the google keyword research tool. Have no fear because the bluesman is definitely here. I also have a video below explaining a more in detail.

Using the Google Keyword Research Tool is quite easy if you follow these simple steps.

Video Below

Google Keyword Research Tool Tutorial Video

Google Keyword Research Tool Step 1

First of all you want to to access the Google Keyword Research Tool. Make sure you log into Google. ( If you do not have a Google account, then register for a FREE account) Why do we want to log in? Well because if you are not logged in then you will only get 100 search results. Also you lose some other features. Check out the video for more detailed information. You also need to type in a CAPTCHA code every time you enter a new keyword!

OK, so the point of the Google Keyword research tool is to find profitable keywords that have a good amount of traffic. And not so much competition.

Google Keyword Research Tool Step 2

What you want to do first is type in the main keyword you are targeting. You can also search in different languages as well as different countries if needed! If your logged into Google you should receive around 800 search results.

Now all you have to do is sort out by clicking the competition tab twice so that you get LOW – High competition. Now you look for a good keyword that brings in a relatively good amount of traffic with the competition being low! Here you can get some great ideas and some killer keywords. I use the Google Keyword Research Tool almost daily.

What you can do is click on the keyword you think is a good candidate and you will be sent to google’s search results for that keyword. What you want to do is put it in quotation marks like this for example..

Let’s say you found a good candidate in the Google Keyword Research Tool. Lets say for example the word

best blues guitar players -> has around 3,710,000 results.

but when we type in this

“best blues guitar players”

then we get the results that show how many websites have that exact keyword you used.

Our result is now 227,000 results.

Huge difference isn’t it?

Warning: You may think you found a gold nugget and looks good to your eyes but there is more behind what you actually get from the Google Keyword Research Tool. There are more factors

to take in consideration to see if it is worth your time to go after that keyword.

Make sure you stay tuned for my next post on the Google Keyword Research Tool advanced tutorials. I will get in the meat ‘n’ potatoes of the Google Keyword Research Tool like spying on your competition and actually see what your competition is lacking! It’s going to be a real groovy post believe me ;)

Even if you find the perfect keyword, you still need to have a optimized blog for the search engines. Do you have one? Do you know what I mean when I say optimized blog?
