Dredd (2012) – Is The New Judge Dredd Worth Watching?

I thought I’d start my Sunday off by kicking back in front of my 50″ watching the new Judge Dredd movie,

…it’s NO Stallone but I thought what the hey!

So I made myself a nice cuppa coffee and threw it on.

The big question is: Is the new Judge Dredd worth watching?

Well I can say it’s not for the faint hearted, ha ha.

There is no shortage of body’s splatting on the ground, blood being shed and slow motion executions,

…so if you’re not one that can stomach graphic violence you may struggle through this one.

Then again if you enjoy a good action movie that leaves nothing to the imagination when it comes to violence then the new Judge Dredd is right up your alley.

The New Judge Dredd Story Line

In my personal opinion there wasn’t a lot to the story line but the brilliant slow motion scenes of action made up for it.

Here is the story line:

The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge – a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed. — (C) Lionsgate

My personal rating is: 7.5/10

The biggest thing I enjoyed about the movie was how crystal clear the slow motion scenes were,

…especially when Dredd blew open the door and let loose!

When you watch that scene you’ll know what I mean…
