Put a link to another of your own articles inside every piece you publish, because if somebody copies the whole thing the link travels with it and the reader still arrives at your site. That is the sharpest practical idea across eight posts, and almost nobody thinks of it.
The other instruction concerns order. He tells you to publish on your own site first and only then submit to the directories, and he names several worth using instead of telling you to submit everywhere and hope for the best.
On writing he asks for personality, on the grounds that a piece with a person visible inside it reads as human and holds somebody longer than a competent anonymous one ever will.
