William Rupert

Winter in Canada with a small child means snowsuits, boots, gloves, a runny nose and somebody moving at glacial pace towards the car, which is how a drive through window earns a place on a list of things worth being grateful for. That kind of specificity is what this blog does best.

The parenting writing stays close to the ground. She reads to her children daily, starting a few weeks after birth, and keeps at it on the evenings when the house is a mess and she would rather not. She names seven books worth sharing with a child and explains why the bonding matters more than the vocabulary. She treats maternity leave as something to enjoy rather than survive.

The business posts run on the same list making instinct: tools for building something online, apps that edit a photograph in a minute, phone habits that give an hour back, resolutions that outlive January.

Holding it together is an argument about the red pill scene in the Matrix and what taking it would actually cost.

Begin with the parenting posts. That is where the honesty lives, and the rest borrows it.
