A marketing degree covers a great deal and mentions almost nothing about advertising online, which Adam Roberts calls a joke given where marketing actually happens now. He was studying for one while volunteering to run the marketing for a small social enterprise, where every task in front of him turned out to be the online kind nobody had taught him.
That gap is the honest centre of the blog. He explains what a blog is from the position of somebody who had read plenty and never understood the mechanism, describing it as an online magazine with the newest thing on the cover.
His post on daily writing is unusually self-aware. He admits he stopped, works out that the ease of the task is exactly why it kept getting postponed, and does not pretend to have fixed it.
There are posts on boxing training, on university, and on whether reading is finished.
Read the daily writing post if you have already missed a few days.
