It never rains when it pours …
So today I am in the flat I rent out and came to clean, knowing that I was preparing it for, after a couple of months on the market, a new tenant moving in.
I was excited, enjoyed cleaning it and listening to music on my iPhone while doing the necessary work.
Just as I was about to leave, I noticed a bulge in the hall ceiling and that water had gathered.
Panic ….
Great, just as I had a tenant. Pound signs flashed before my eyes representing the money I would have to spend and lose as my tenant couldn’t move in …

Breathe …
I was glad I had come over today. Grateful my brother and his wife had asked me to a BBQ at their’s last night, I had gone to stay with my parents and decided to prepare the flat today.
Grateful I had spotted the problem and had an opportunity to fix it before my tenant moved in.
I called my Letting Agent. Within an hour they had someone onto preparing me a quote and agreeing to do the repair of the ceiling and cause of the water on Tuesday. So the tenant can move in the following week.
So as I sit here waiting on the water to drain after piercing a hole in the ceiling, I am grateful that I found it.
Grateful for the strange coincidences. That I was in Glasgow last night and popped into the flat ….
That money I should have got in April was due to come through next week giving me money for the contractors upfront …
That some money I made online last month gets paid 30 days later …

Me, I consciously focused on the positive not panic or fear …
I focused on my gratitude and allowed it to happen ….
I focused on the fact I have people I can call on to sort things for me.
Having people in my life to support me makes me feel totally different and not on my own.
