Ask yourself whether you are living up to your last name. Angela Chandler puts that question early and keeps circling back to it, using her grandmother hand washing cloth nappies for ten children as the measure rather than anything anyone accomplished in an office.

Her stated audience is women, and single mothers particularly. She writes about the strength women learn to show young and how readily that gets read as something else, and she is direct that the purpose of the writing is to shorten the road for whoever comes behind her.

Health arrives as part of the same argument. After a third week of being ill she takes a book on nutrition down off the shelf rather than blaming the Michigan weather again, and treats looking after her body as part of leaving anything behind at all.

Ten posts, several of them short. Read the legacy and last name pieces first, because they set up everything else and they are the ones still working on you the following day.
