Creating Smart Goals: Setting A Clear Outcome Makes The Difference

Creating Smart Goals: Setting A Clear Outcome Makes The Difference

Creating smart goals is a key to success. To me, a goal and a smart goal are two completely different things. A smart goal is when you have a clear vision of the outcome. A goal is just what you want to accomplish. It is generic or not something that you can picture. These are not actual definitions, just the way I see it!

A smart goal needs to be laid out in great detail and using all of your senses. When you can clearly see what you want and you take massive action..you will achieve your goal!

Creating Smart Goals

Let me give you an example:

Goal: When I started with Empower Network I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. My goal was to grow my ViSalus business. That was it. No clear outcome of what I wanted the results to be (How many new customers did I want to get? In what time frame? How much money would that make me? How would I spend that money? Would it change my life?)

Smart Goal: Now my goal has completely transformed. I am still hoping to grow my business, but my focus has shifted to the opportunity that Empower Network has to offer and what it can do for me. So, I set my “smart goal” for the duration of 90 days. I did this last night, and without realizing it until I counted it out…DAY 90 FALLS ON MY BIRTHDAY :) Coincidence or a sign?

I recorded my outcome statement so that I can listen to it as often as possible. I can see it, I really can! I know that I will accomplish this. This is my vision for my outcome:

I, Amber Fox, am sitting at my desk at home in Chocowinity, NC. The date is April 15th, 2013. It is my birthday (Happy 27th to me!) I have just logged in to my Empower Network back office. I am checking my earnings as an affiliate from January 15th, 2013 to April 15th, 2013. As I add the totals, I hear my kids playing together in the other room. I feel the tears streaming down my face and taste them as they fall into my mouth. That is nearly 2 times what I would have made at Joe Pecheles (my 9-5 job) in ONE YEAR. I call my husband over and give him the news. We celebrate and call the kids down to tell them as well. Mommy has reached her goal and made her dreams come true. As a reward, I am quitting my job, Daddy will be working only part time, and WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY LAND! (Happy Birthday to me!)

Creating Smart Goals: Set Yours Today

See the difference between a goal and smart goal?

You can do yours too! Follow the assignment below.

Rebel Marketers’ 90 Day’s of Remarkable Transformation: Empower Network Action Assignments

Total Time to complete the Empower Network Action Assignments: 2 – 3 Hours

If you have more time, spend it marketing “telling others,” learning the tools in your back office and studying then implementing our team tools.

Always focus on 80% Action, 20% Learning

It is better that you learn, but take massive action immediately even if it is not yet “perfect” because you will learn through practice, implementation and keeping this as simple as possible.
