Stop Procrastination
Procrastination is something that many people have trouble with when it comes to their online business success. Why? Because for most, it is easier to make excuses to not do things that will move you forward towards your dreams and goals. One thing I have learned over the years and now especially as I work from home as an entrepreneur, persistence and dedication is a must.
So tackling procrastination and nipping it in the bud is required, no excuses!
Do some of these sound familiar? …..You couldn’t do the dishes because your neighbor stopped by. You couldn’t get that project done because the kids needed help with their homework. You could make that video because you were interrupted by phone calls. Just because things pop up doesn’t mean that you should be putting off important tasks for later only to find that you never get them done.
It’s time to take a good look at yourself and say “No more excuses!” You have to get important tasks done, but you never will if you do not be honest with yourself and stop telling yourself that it is “okay” because something came up.

Top 4 Tips on How to Stop Procrastination
1. Start Using a Timer
–
This may not sound like it would do much in helping your procrastination. However, you’d be very surprised at how much time goes by when you are watching TV or chatting with your friends on Facebook or spending time on other social sites. When you sit down and watch television, set a timer so that you don’t go overboard and let hours pass you by. Once the timer goes off, you stop doing whatever it is that you are doing and start working on your business tasks. When you have more than one project, set the time and allow a designated time for each project.
–
You could even set the timer for individual tasks like following up on your social sites or writing blog posts and articles. Putting a time limit on things in your business will eventually keep you moving throughout the day, help to keep you focused and getting more things accomplished.

2. Do Your Least Favorite Tasks First
–
When you knock out what you hate doing at the beginning of the day or when you first start a project, you won’t have to do it anymore! This means that the rest of your tasks will be much more simple for the rest of the day. It mentally frees up your time and reduces stress or anxiety.
Doing your least favorite tasks, first, at the beginning of the day, makes for a much more enjoyable afternoon. It also will start rejuvenating your spirit and overcoming procrastination much more quickly. So be sure not to save those least favorite tasks for the end of the day. Hit them head on and get on with it!

3. Set Goals For Yourself
–
Setting goals is actually something that all procrastinators should do. Don’t set outrageous goals as you will be just setting yourself up to fail. Set reasonable and realistic goals for yourself that is productive to your business.
Each night before you go to sleep, write down what it is that you want to accomplish the next day. You can then wake up with full knowledge on what you want to accomplish. These are simple daily goals, once you start achieving these, you can then start making more long term goals for yourself. No matter what, you should continue making to-do lists as a general routine. Using Evernote on your phone is another great idea.

4. Have a Reward System
–
It’s good to reward yourself for the hard work you do, especially when you are working on overcoming your procrastination! At the end of the week, if you meet everything that is on your to-do list each and every day, you should reward yourself with a movie or that new book you’ve been wanting to buy and read. If you know that you have a reward coming to you, it will help you want to stick to what you need to be doing more often.
