The biggest piece of the puzzle when it comes to blogging
…the who what why are we blogging for. There is a huge audience out there so what is it that we say, how do we say it and why?
Let’s answer these questions to better understand the who what why are we blogging for in the first place!
Why Are We Blogging
There is an interesting story where I remember when I got started online to promote my part-time jewelry business and someone told me I had to have a blog. I was confused because I was working on putting a website together to add my inspirational charm jewelry products on there for people to buy.
That was when I learned what a blog really was and how it was going to help me gain more visibility, exposure for my business, connecting with more people by leveraging the internet, sharing content from my blog. This proved to be a key factor, the reason and the answer to why are we blogging.
Knowing why you are blogging is understanding what your business is all about, what you want to provide to people that will solve a problem, help them do something easier or even to entertain them. Once you know your ‘why’ then you have a direction and path of where you are going in the first place.
What Are We Blogging
Since we know why we are blogging, understanding what we are blogging about will connect the dots to building a successful business. The content and information that you will be sharing with your audience needs to dial in to their needs, wants and desires.
Keywords are going to be very important that will help what you are blogging about and specific to the topic your audience is searching for. These keywords will provide additional benefit such as search engine rankings. Having your content recognized and being found on first pages of search engines means you will have more people seeing your content, clicking the links and visiting your blog. The more traffic you get the more leads and sales.
When you focus on what you are blogging about, it will prove to be another important factor towards moving your business to profits!
Who Are We Blogging For
At first you might think who we are blogging for is our audience or target market. And actually that is how so many online business owners, marketers and professionals are doing. So this may surprise you….
You are blogging for you!
What is your passion, what do you love in life and share that with your audience. You may be thinking that is being self-centered. But that’s the point. Tell your story, be more personal with your audience and not only will you attract people, but you will be building a positive connection, letting your audience get to know, like and trust you.
With so much information being thrown at us each day, blogging is a way to get on a personal level with your readers and visitors. In turn, they enjoy returning to your blog, reading and eventually turning into buying customers. And of course, hopefully they will be referring their family and friends!
