Alan Holden

His father took down a fluorescent kitchen light to fix it, reconnected the wires, and left the whole thing hanging from the ceiling in case it went wrong again. It stayed there for about seven years. Alan Holden uses that to explain why finishing things matters more than starting them, and it is the best thing across eleven posts.

He is funny about politics too, proposing that his church finance committee, which once suggested everybody bring their own toilet paper rather than buy more, be handed the federal budget. His political posts elsewhere are far less gentle and pull nothing at all.

The marketing writing stays practical: what a capture page has to contain, four things every article needs, and coordinating what you do online with what you do offline so a customer meets you in both places.

Eleven posts, including one written on his own birthday. Read the kitchen light one.
