Varsity
And it was all cool, I made people laugh and I was fun to be with. That was how and why I got invited. So pretty much I was a “good girl”, no headaches, no boyfriends, I just was interested in sports and I made people laugh a lot. I was a varsity player in volleyball and competed against other schools with my team.
During intramurals, I would play either soccer or basketball.
I don’t even know how I got into the volleyball varsity team and played in the Women’s National College Athletic Association (WNCAA).
I think the “volleyball part” was more influenced by my older sister, she graduated with an “Athlete of The Year” award. And she was my Dad’s favorite. 🙂 I thought back then, as this child right… maybe if I played volleyball too, then maybe my Dad would like me, too. (LOL! Daddy issues!).
Anyway, I will mention here that I come from a family of 7 kids, so competition for our folks’ love and attention was fierce! 🙂
But anyways, it was then that I also recognized that “I wasn’t a favorite”, and that was a lifelong burden that weighed so heavily in my heart all these years! And that was why my realizations, through my daily blogging, was just so profound that it REALLY was and IS empowering! That’s how and why I understood my basic foundational reasons for why I am how I am, and why I am who I am.
I think since January of this year, I have been blogging more and more about the things I have been realizing, which was VERY helpful for me, in my own walk and in my own life’s journey, and in my own Christian walk – we all go through different processes in our lives, at different times.
The amount of traffic that I am getting on my website is ALSO testament to how many people ACTUALLY go to my website and stay to read what I have to write. Because I think that we all go through “similar” situations in our lives, just at different times.
And if there is anything that I write that resonates with anyone out here in the online world, that might help them in some way, then all these “blogging daily” commitment would have been REALLY worth it!
That is why it is crucial to be able to assess and evaluate ourselves FIRST … to be able to look at ourselves in the mirror… and then just ask “Do I Know You?“
For how can you know what you can and cannot do?
For how can you know why you are the way you are?
For how can you know where you want to go, if you do not understand where you have been? And why you were there? What REALLY got you there?
We ALL suffer losses in our lives, but in that process of loss, we should never lose the lesson.
My Insecurity about anything related to Mathematics.
It started in my sophomore year, about being 2 to 3 years younger than everybody else. It seemed like the love and caring that I needed from my core family, growing up, I did not get. But I got a whole lot of attention in school, which I actually did not want nor need.
