It’s fun to create resources and sharing with those who, in my opinion, might find it useful. If they use it.
I use it.
The best part about that is I use it… I wanted to create something that would be useful for me, whether or not other people decide to use it? It’s up to them. But it was useful for me. 🙂
And so was the “audiobook” I created… reading out loud what I had to study, and making wise use of time spent while stuck in traffic …
And over the weekend… in between speaking with my relatives overseas who were in charge of the care of my Dad… and also of course having to deal with me “worrying about my Dad” and incidentally my Mom, too…
… I only did what I know I can do…
… to the best of my capacity, with what I know, with knowing and now being aware and being appreciative of my God given gifts, with what I have, and from where I am.
There’s only so much we can do as people, and as humans. Not super woman… not super man. Just doing our best is oftentimes more than enough.
And then we can lift issues up in prayer to God.
And because God, our Heavenly Father, is an Omniscient and an Omnipresent God, He knows everything and is present in everything, we can rest in that Fact that when we fervently pray, He hears us.
I have never heard or learned of ANYBODY who has survived TEN strokes. My earthly father has. He is still alive and I am grateful. 🙂
And I am SO VERY THANKFUL that I was able to resolve issues that I had, and that I blogged about in January, before my trip to Florida. My Dad and I were able to ACTUALLY talk about it! Just a few months earlier.
And so when he had his tenth stroke, and my brother told me about it, and when I learned that he could not speak, I was so very scared at first. Of course I still went to Med School, and then I learned about “stroke victims” and “treatment” and so I was able to share that with my siblings, and then my parents.
I was calling up the hospital to ask to be connected to the Nurses station so they can check on whether or not my Dad was awake, and then I will have my Mom “put the phone in his ear” so he can hear me.
I was telling him to force himself to speak, make some noise, it doesn’t matter, groan, make a sound, and just tell his brain to re-learn how to speak again. Physical Therapy needs to be done as soon as his vitals are stable. And then I would always say…
… “You’ve got to speak Dad! Or else I will start singing songs to you!”
That always made him laugh. I could hear it.
And whenever I would learn he was back at the hospital… I would always call and say “What are you doing, going on a field trip to the hospital again?!!!”
That always makes him laugh, too.
