I don’t know about stupid accidents… (my mother always told me in the past that I am such an accident prone kid…)…
… well, it’s not like a self-fulfilling prophecy, LOL! But what I have realized all throughout these circumstances is I end up being so thankful AFTER… because it could have been worse! 🙂
When I woke up very early this morning, I was in bad tummy pain and so I brought my lifeless self into the bathroom thinking, “I’ll just take a long hot bath and feel a bit better afterwards”.
Anyway, so I was taking a long hot shower with my own thoughts about what do I have to do for the day, etc..
It’s awfully cold these days in Texas, and so the hot showers are what keeps me and my body temperature warm. (That’s how I defrost and thaw. 🙂 ) Plus I like long hot baths.
I don’t know how long I was in there, maybe 30 minutes… and then I started feeling foggy… I moved the shower curtain and realized.. “CRAP.. it IS FOGGY IN here!”
And then I realized I forgot to turn on the Air Vent. So there was no air circulation in the room – just the steam from the long hot shower that I was breathing!
And so I started feeling dizzy … and I then realized “OH CRAP!” … the oxygen levels in the bathroom is getting way too low!”
So, I stepped out of the tub, put on clothes real quick, as quick as I could so I could get out and breathe some real air, because I felt like I was going to pass out (and I didn’t want to pass out in the bath tub! Or anywhere in the bathroom because I know what I know.. it’s dangerous to drop or pass out in any bathroom!)
So.. the last memory I had was grabbing the door knob, and just prayed… and then I lost all consciousness and passed into oblivion and just plain blacked out……
… then, I woke up on the hallway.
Well… here’s a picture… (disclaimer, I write better and I draw better, but not on this drawing software .. 🙂 )
Don’t ask me how I got there. Because I don’t know. (So I can’t create a “How To” Video tutorial on that…. hehehe… ) But I thank God’s angels for that! 🙂
I hit the back of my head really bad, but ironically, since I woke up laying ON the hallway right outside the bathroom, I must have fallen and hit my head ON THE CARPET, instead of the toilet bowl!
So the BUMP on the back of my head is big and painful, but, it could have been worse if I hit ANYTHING else while in the bathroom!
I knew that my oxygen levels got so LOW that added to my losing consciousness, and of course add to that the fact that I was really not feeling very well when I stepped into the shower, since I was in tummy pain too, prior to my fall.
So.. anyway, right after that episode, I still had the tummy pain, and then the back of my head pain… LOL!
I drank lots of water and I put sugar under my tongue and just “watched” what I was physically feeling… so if I felt like I had some major head injury.. I can call and ask for medical help if necessary… but, I was grateful! And thanking God because I knew it could have been worse.
So I just went on observing my eyes and the dilation of my pupils for about 4 hours… and fought against going back to bed to sleep – because I was really dizzy! So I just kept my head elevated, and sat in my comfortable sofa, with a little handy mirror to keep on checking the dilation of my pupils… and put my now painful back of my head against an icepack! (Talk about brain freeze… hehehe).
So, since after four hours, I didn’t pass out again, I just went on ahead with my day.. GRATEFUL!
Lesson? If you are taking hot baths, MAKE SURE, that you turn on the bathroom fan / vent first, so that you are not suffocating yourself into dizziness and pass out!
🙂
I remember another time, when I fell standing from my kitchen sink as I was changing the curtains, I fell and hit my head on my tiled kitchen floor I lost all consciousness because I passed out. From where I stood, logically, I should have fallen and hit my refrigerator but landed at an angle about two feet away from it… I landed elsewhere …
… and that day I decided to have my long hair up on ponytail and wear a cap, instead of my usual “hair clamp” made of hard plastic that pins all my hair into a bun … that ponytail and that cap “cushioned my head in a major way” (but I still passed out and blacked out) … but I hurt and major sprained my elbows and my shoulders instead!
I am still grateful because at least I did not break any bones, knowing how bony and skinny I am! 🙂 And if I was wearing that “hair clamp” made of hard plastic that I always wear, that would have pierced through the back of my head! So, yes I am grateful because I get to recognize “those little things”, those little unexplainable “gut feelings” that I have learned to trust, too, all these years.
I remember another time when i was on my driveway and a tree branch about 15 feet long fell, ( I blogged about that, too) and I thank God I walked several steps because that big branch could have dropped on my head if I didn’t listen to that “immediate thought” that came to my mind, I was getting something from my car’s trunk, and I was trying to carry more stuff than I can carry, and the thought said, “I’ll just make another trip back to the car to go get the next batch of stuff”.. a couple of steps later, a shrieking / yelling from a neighbor later (because he saw the branch was going to fall on my head and my car, from where he was, he could see it!)..
Anyway, that’s also a God thing, I BELIEVE. 🙂
So anyway, this blog post is about a crazy accident… and a grateful THANK YOU to God who sends Angels my way all the time, when He knows I need that extra help. 🙂
Thank you God! 🙂
Cris
Also, when you fall, He sends angels to help! 🙂 When logic ends, faith begins. 🙂
