How would you feel if you know if you’ve told a falsehood?
6. How would you feel if you know someone didn’t tell you the truth?
What kind of a relationship can you have with someone whom you know can’t be truthful to you? It may be in business, or in your personal life, and with a straight face they just lie to you?
Doesn’t that do something to you on the inside? Doesn’t that cause a conflict? Or a little bit of stress there, because you know they are not telling you the truth.
Maybe the truth you are seeking would be of great help to you, You know it’s like we’ve all had that experience, when someone might not be able to just simply face up to the truth.
7. Do you want other people to be honest with you?
If you are going to buy a house from someone, do you want them to be honest with you?
If you are sick, do you want your doctors to be honest with you?
Suppose you are having some real pains and you decided to go the doctors and you want those doctors to be deadly honest with you, right?
Because truth is a vital part of our life, and of our thinking, and it affects every part of our life. .
Oftentimes when we want to massage it a bit and we want to feel better, then we might ask ourselves…
.. how much is this going to cost us?
Would you want to work for someone who is not honest with you?
No you wouldn’t, because you wouldn’t even know if you are going to be paid or not.
So all these questions, we have to ask ourselves because in this life, we relate to people all the time..
It’s a two fold necessity in being truthful and being true to others.
.1. When we build truth into our life, it’s for our protection.
For example, you don’t want a Pastor who will not tell you the truth. You can’t say that for everybody. Do you want a church where truth is not absolutely essential? Or where the bible is not the ultimate expression of divine truth, then what you are really saying is, “I don’t really want to know the truth.”
… it’s like saying, “I want to know the things that I agree with…”
… or it’s like saying, “I want to still have some liberty where I will still be able to do some things and nobody will bring it to my attention…”
That’s deadly.
Truth is part of our protection.
If I say “that snake is not going to bother you, and it is a diamond back rattler.”
Do you want me to to tell you that it’s okay? Of course not.
Truth is a form of protection. That’s why God has put that quality in our life because He wants it there.
For example…
.. if we end up with wrong thinking…. wrong actions … wrong belief system…
… in other words everything in our life gets contorted, when there is no truth in our own bottomline, as a foundational principle by which we operate.
