Adam Ward

Almost every headline on this blog carries a number in front of it, and the effect is a shelf of checklists you can work through one at a time. Adam Ward wrote them for people building a business in the evenings who want to be told what to do next rather than persuaded that it matters.

Two posts break the pattern usefully. One explains what Facebook jail actually is and which behaviours put you there, which matters if your page is the only asset you own. The other warns about a broad attack on WordPress sites and what to change before it reaches yours.

The rest divides between search, email, social and video, with a strand of personal development that leans on Maxwell, Covey and Napoleon Hill rather than on his own conclusions.

Then there is wine. He writes about what goes with steak and how to find a bottle you actually like, along with a Culver City restaurant and a meditation garden, and those are the pieces where he sounds least like a marketer.

Pick the channel you are weakest in and start there.
