How Not to Be Clueless When Joining an MLM
I remember when the movie Clueless first came out. My parents actually discovered it and when I was over for a visit, they popped in the DVD.
It was hilarious!
My dad ended up getting me a copy of my very own. At the time, I thought it was a nice gesture. But in hindsight, I think maybe he was trying to tell me something.
How a Clueless Girl Ended Up Joining an MLM
You see, Clueless is exactly the right word to describe me when I was joining an mlm company.
I was looking for a side gig here in Los Angeles, and answered a CraigsList Ad.
I bet you know what happened next.
YEP!
I found myself at a meeting with about 30 other people. It wasn’t a hotel meeting, but it easily could have been.
I didn’t even know what an mlm company was.
I didn’t know anything more than I liked the idea behind the marketing plan.
So I did what any clueless person would do…

I’ve always been fairly lucky.
And my luck didn’t stop here.
Despite not having any idea of what I walked into, I ended up discovering the most amazing industry.
Joining an mlm turned out to be one of the best things I ever did.
Now perhaps you are thinking about joining an mlm company or an affiliate company.
And that’s great because there are so many amazing companies and products out there and joining an mlm can be a great business decision and a great way to make additional income.
Having said that, there is no need to go into it clueless!
Here’s what you need to know before you join.
First, do due diligence on the company or products. Make sure it’s reputable and in good financial health. Take a look at the company’s structure and see if it makes sense to you.
Also, keep in mind that you are going to find both positive and negative reviews about every company and product out there. So just be objective.
Vet your team! I cannot stress enough the importance of being on a good team that has great forward momentum. A lot of times, people join with their family or friends without taking a look at their team as a whole.
You are going to need mentors as you move forward in your business. And if no one on your team is moving forward, neither will you.
Take a look at your team’s daily method of operation. What are they doing everyday to be successful? What are their goals and marketing strategies? What kinds of tools and educational resources are available?
There are tons of ways to market your business, and you want to make sure that you and your team are on the same page.
These are all the things I didn’t know when I first got in the industry. Now this once clueless girl knows exactly what to look for when joining an mlm!
