Priorities in business – You are what you prioritize
Does your business get priority in your life? Do your family get priority? What are your priorities in life? What I mean by that is which one gets precedence over one or the other. Which things in your day will you push back to do something else and which things will you do right away? See in the business world it’s not that we don’t have enough time in life it’s all about the priorities we set in life. Time is the greatest equalizer in life because everyone is blessed with the same amount of time in a day. What are your priorities in business?
Anything can be done
We can do what we need to do if we make it a priority in life or in business. Why do some people have a hard time losing weight? Well it’s because they have not set that as a priority in their life. They haven’t fully invested in that idea that they have to lose weight no matter what. If they made that a priority it would definitely change the results that they are after. It may sound weird to you but whatever you put out there to the universe you will get back. So by setting that intention out there to the world the you’ve made that a priority the universe will grant that to you. Of course simply thinking and chanting affirmations all day about it will not get you anything. You have to take massive focused action with it.
Turn your “I need to” to “I MUST”
Quick little exercise for you. What are the things that you’d like to accomplish. Let me name a few things that pop up in my head. Needs like you need to lose weight, you need to make more money this year. You need this, you need that. Is that what you’ve been asking yourself. Doesn’t it sound very well…. NEEDY??!??!?
Now lets rephrase those same questions. I MUST lose (set desired amount of weight) by (set desired date). I MUST make 30k a month by February 5th, 2013. I must do this, I must do that. Doesn’t it sound different? Doesn’t it sound like you’ve made it a priority in your mind and essentially putting it out to the universe that it’s a priority for you?
So from now on turn those NEED TOs to MUST. Like I stated earlier, this doesn’t do you any good if you AREN’T taking any action at all. Simply stating these without action won’t get you any results.
Set your priorities from the level of their importance
We all have a lot of things that we need to do in life. We all want to lose that extra holiday weight, we all want to make extra amounts of money etc… Make sure you prioritize the level of importance on what you really want what you must accomplish. Prioritize them. In my daily to do list, I like to prioritize my list by putting a number 1 on the first thing that I MUST do in my business then number down with the other things. You can use letters or numbers but use what ever works for you to set that list up so you know which task you need to do first and which ones you need to do next.
Think of it like a map. When you figure out where you need to drive to, you figure out the different freeways and exits that you must take to get to that desired place. Your life works the same way. By having that in place you set yourself up to ultimately be more productive in your days and get closer to hitting those goals than most people.
In conclusion, by prioritizing your life you’ll start seeing what’s really important for you to focus on. You’ll notice that there are things that you do that aren’t really helping you out, things that you can probably remove or delegate from. So remember this, you can accomplish almost anything you want in life as long as you make it a priority in your life. Priorities in business isn’t just about business as well it’s also about everything else in your life. You need a perfect balance.
