I’ll admit it, I had a Glock 19 in the past and sold it do to the fact that it just wasn’t for me at the time. Fast forward about 16 years and Glock now came out with the Generation 4 design of the famous Glock 19 and I became interested again. I looked into the Glock 26 Gen 4 and also the Glock 19 Gen 4 and finally decided on the Glock 19 Gen 4 because I liked the mid size version better than the compact or the full size. It’s as they say…just right for me. Still small enough for me to conceal relatively easy and large enough for me to get all my fingers on the grip. Having a 9mm again when years ago I swore .45 was the way to go took some research and time to sink in. The research I found showed that with proper ammunition the 9mm was just a smart choice for an all around defensive firearm. First let’s cover some of the dif. features that sets the Gen 4 Glock apart from a Gen 3 or prev. Glock model 19. The Glock 19 Gen 4 has a slimmer grip section that has adjustable back straps to fit any hand. It has a light rail up front under the barrel and a rough texture on the gripping handle to aid you in holding it steady for a clean shot. I also noticed the trigger felt much crisper to me than I remember my old one years ago.
My first day at the range with my new Glock 19 Generation 4 was nothing short of amazing. Out of the box I expected it to jam some until it loosened up a bit but it never jammed or misfired at all since I have owned it. I fired a few hundred rounds through it and it is accurate, has low felt recoil to aid in follow up shots, and I love the trigger reset technique that I use. The trigger reset for fast accurate follow up shots is when after you fire a shot keep the trigger pulled to the back then after another round is cycled in the chamber and ready to fire you release the trigger just far enough for it to reset, then gently squeeze as you aim for the intended target and repeat until finished. I also love the fact that the front of the trigger guard is square and I can hold the weapon more secure by placing my non trigger hand’s finger on that flat spot. It doesn’t hurt having 15 rounds with you also. One in the gun and one in my pocket leaves me enough to fight my way out of almost any situation should the need arise.

Hickok45 has become my hero of sorts as you can see. He is amazing at what he can do with a Glock. So in my opinion you should own a Glock 19 Gen 4 or maybe even 2.
