It’s a common Question, What Do I Blog About?

“Bloggers are the people that are changing the world-they are the modern day revolutionaries.”

I believe I got this quote from David Sharpe, co-founder of Empower Network.

Management Guru Tom Peters said:

“I will simply say my first post was in August of 2004.  No single thing in the last 15 years professionally has been more important to my life than blogging.  It has changed my life, it has changed my perspective, it is has changed my intellectual outlook, it’s has changed my emotional outlook, (and it is the best damn marketing tool by an order of magnitude I’ve ever had), and it’s free.”

So, if we can believe or take on the message in that quote, therein lies the answer to the question, What Do I Blog About?

Anything and Everything.

It amazed me the other evening learning I had so many blog posts over the last several years.  I wrote my first blog post on December 31st, 2007.

It was entitled: First Blog Ever.  I wrote:

This is my first blog. Not sure what to do with it right now but I am willing to learn. I think one of the first things I want to do is to link it to my three web sites at Creating A World CommunityI invite you to visit them.Happy New Year

I guess I was asking the same question then,

What do I blog about?

I was at a restaurant with a friend of mine the other day and was recalling with her a blog post I did following my visit to the White House in 2009.  I had been invited there to a Cinco de Mayo Celebration.

In searching for the post, I realized that I had a total of five blogs other than this one out there that I had created over the last 5 years. Creating A World Community, Wealth Creation, Oscar Carter, His Politics, Oscar Carter, Ambit Energy Consultant, Better Networker Blog.

I mostly wrote them out of some inspiration I had at the time.  They were not always well written, (I learning at the Empower Network now that is not necessary) and they were relatively short.  (I’m also learning at Empower for purposes of my post being found, they should be a least 500 words.)

If we do have the answer to the question What do I blog about, we certainly want to be found.

I have answered the question What do I blog about?

Here is what I learned about how to have your post found after you have written it. These are minimum To Do’s which I have learned from the Empower Network.

1. Blog frequently, Empower recommends everyday.
2. Blog on an “authority site” like Empower Network.
3. You want people to link to your blog.  To have that happen, make your post entertaining, unique, engaging for conversation/commenting, ask questions, write about controversial topics, be bold.
4. Content should be no more than 20% info.  Have fun, make your post entertaining. (TV is a good example for 80% of your post)
5. Share your blog with people you know; also on facebook, twitter and other social networking sites.
6. Put a picture on your blog and a video.

What do I blog about?  Again the answer is easy.  Anything and Everything.  Just be Yourself in writing your content.
