Several years ago I was introduced to a program called “Lead the Field” by Earl Nightingale.  I was so impressed by it I used the lessons he taught in my classroom and other programs I wrote and taught.

 Here is some insight on Earl Nightingale and Lead the field

Earl Nightingale grew up in California during the Great Depression. Because his family was very poor, Earl educated himself in his local library. His main focus: what makes people turn out the way they do, in terms of their wealth, their career achievements and their happiness.

After beginning his career in the US Marines during World War II, Earl was hired as a radio announcer. He eventually became a popular daily broadcaster for CBS. Through his interest in both personal development and audio, he partnered with Lloyd Conant to form the Nightingale-Conant Corporation. At Nightingale-Conant, he focused on recording the ideas and lessons about success that he studied throughout his life.

Lead the Field is a practical course on how to think and act like a successful businessperson. The timeless stories Nightingale uses to make his points are as profound as they are simple. Listen just once and you’ll be energized to achieve greatness.

Lead the Field has arguably changed more lives and created more millionaires than any other program Nightingale-Conant has produced.

A successful attitude will bring us the success we seek.  but how does a person get this kind of attitude?  The best way is to act as though we have a good positive, expectant attitude toward life…walk, act, and look as though we belong to this group.  Actions trigger feelings, just as feelings trigger actions.

Life is dull only to dull people… life is interesting only to interesting people… life is successful only to successful people.

Before we can do something we must first be something.  A person must look, act, and (because of these things) feel successful, before the success they seek can come.

Points to Remember from the Video…

• It is our attitude at the beginning of a task, which more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome.
• It is our attitude toward life which determines life’s attitude toward us.
• We are interdependent, it is impossible to succeed without others, and it is our attitude toward others which will determine their attitude toward us.
• Before a person can achieve the kind of life they want, they must become that kind of individual’ they must think, act, walk, talk and conduct themselves in all of their affairs as would the person they wish to become.
• The higher you go in any organization of value, the better the attitude you will find.
• Your mind can only hold one thought at a time.  Since there is nothing to be gained by holding ugly, negative thoughts, hold successful, positive, thoughts.
• The deepest craving of human beings is to be needed, to feel important to be appreciated; give it to them and they will return it to you.
• Part of a good attitude is to look for the best in new ideas and look for good ideas everywhere.
• Don’t waste your time broadcasting personal problems, it probably wont help you’ it cannot help others.
• Don’t talk about your health unless it’s good, unless you are talking to a doctor.
• Radiate the attitude of well being, of confidence, of a person who knows where they are going.  You will find good thins will start happening right away.

Your Assignment…

For the next 30 days act toward the world, everything and everyone with whom you come n contact, with an attitude which represents the kind of results you want to achieve.  If you want others to treat you with admiration and respect, treat others with admiration and respect first.  Treat Everyone with who you come in contact as the most important person on earth.
