Preventing going down the rabbit hole!!!

Good day to everyone!!!

Today I would like to just spend a small amount of time to talk about preventing going down the rabbit hole. There is a lot of information out there in the world. Especially in today’s world where we have the internet. We can literally access any kind of information from anywhere in the whole by just sitting in front of your computer and logging on to the internet. Information is readily available at your fingertips, or by the push of a button.

It is now even more important that we know what our direction in life would be, by making a decision early on and sticking to that decision regardless of what the results might. I remember when I was at school; I went on a leadership camp. This camp was strictly for school learners that served onto the school’s Learners Representative Council. We were sort of the ambassadors for the rest of the learners at that particular school. Only 10 to 15 learners could serve on this council. However, on the camp I had the lesson about a tree which has a root system that was embedded into the rock beneath that particular tree. The person leading that specific camp explained or called this tree the tree of standing stability. He further went on to explain that whenever we have a decision to make it should be as the tree of standing stability. The roots of your decision should be anchored into the rocks. Nothing should be able to change your mind regarding that decision, once you have made your decision it should be final and you stick to it and accept all responsibility regardless of whether the outcome would be bad or good, because even if the outcome is bad it is actually still good. If you have made a bad decision and you were able to learn from that decision then that decision was a good decision. Always strive to learn from all your mistakes and decisions and never forget that lesson you have learned.

If you have made a decision as to where you want to go in life, and you stick to that decision it will be very difficult to keep your focus on what you want to achieve in life. Like I’ve said earlier, there are a lot of information out there now a days, and it is easy to fall down the rabbit hole if you do not have a map of where you are going. The only way you would be able to stay on the right path is by making your decision as to where you want to go and going straight to that point.
