HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Or, as they say here in the South, Happeh Easta Y’all!
What is Easter?
What is Easter anyway?
The meaning of Easter has gone completely commercial … meaning it’s all about the all mighty buck; chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies, egg hunts, stuffed animals, as many toys as Christmas and birthdays, and loads upon loads of jelly beans, not to mention the Easter outfits and, oh yes, the Easter dinner. I don’t recall the bible talking about the disciples hunting for eggs and candy and gifts. I don’t recall the bible talking about slaughtering a pig for dinner and feasting in celebration. Yet, that is what Easter has become ….
The Meaning of Easter
Have we forgotten WHY we have Easter? That it all started from a sacrifice of one man so others could have more in their lives & for the lives of their families? That it was about the miracles that can happen when we just believe.
Now, I’m not an incredibly religious person but I do believe in the spirit, the meaning of what lead up to and happened on, what is now Easter. Although, if you read your history books, your religious and dictionary history books, that is, you’ll find that the word Easter doesn’t have anything to do with how we observe, and we celebrate it today. Another indication of the commercialism of yet another important event that took place so long ago, with the meaning lost in hype, excitement, and anticipation for something that has nothing to do with the historical event itself but of presents, food, and candy.
How to Reflect on the Meaning of Easter Today and Everyday
Easter is celebrated for one day. The meaning of it is reminded to us and our families for a short period of time leading to the day and on the day itself. But, it is important to remember that, while a sacrifice of one person was made to help change the lives of so many others, you too can sacrifice to better your life and that of those around you. Your sacrifice might come in the form of keeping your tongue still when you soooo want to flap it like a flag on a windy day or to not obsess over your smart phone and simply enjoy the here & now of REAL life – not virtual life or to put aside your own selfishness so others can come first or maybe even be a little selfish so you CAN be there for others later. If you dream of having your passion fulfilled, then sacrifice of time or leisure or both is a must or your passion will remain a dream; it doesn’t matter if you want to earn an income or not.
Reflect on How to Make Your Dreams Into Realitye with it or not, without a sacrifice, there is no bringing that dream to fruition.
Believe and what you want can be. Take action now for want to you want for later, do it everyday to see your dream become reality.
Does this resonate with you? Whether or not you are religious, there is more to the meaning of Easter than Christ rising. Do YOU Believe? Comment believe to tell me your opinion.

Warm Wishes for Your Success,
