Apple TV Customer Reviews
1) After owning several iPods and an iPhone, it comes as no surprise that the Apple TV is awesome. It took me longer to read the enclosed manual than it did to set up the product – which took about 3 minutes. I had music and videos playing on my TV from multiple computers on my home network incredibly fast. And also being able to control the Apple TV from iPods, iPhones, and iPads is icing on the cake.
2) I received this as a gift and like most apple products its easy to setup and get running. The user interface is superb and it is a great tool for getting access to content stored on your Mac. i.e. your own photos or home movies. The product streams these like a champ. If that is what you are looking for then look no further. On the other hand if you are looking to display other internet video content then I would suggest you look at the Roku player. It streams a lot more web video content including amazon instant video. Its also half the cost for the base model. Apple TV does have access to youtube but no Amazon.
Again if you are looking for a way to stream your home movies or pictures resident on a Mac this is a fantastic product. It will also stream movies from netflix or iTunes. Its all according to what you are trying to do.
3) I’m coming from XBOX 360 > Boxee Box > Logitech Revue with Google TV > Acer REVO RL100 > Apple TV
I Jail-broke and installed aTV Flash (Black) as soon as I got the Apple TV from Amazon.
Installed the Media Player, all of my content is there and plays perfectly. The menu navigation is snappy, HD video plays with out any issues over the Wireless N network.
If you are looking for an awesome media center PC solution, get the Apple TV, install aTV Flash or Plex on it and you have a sweet system for your entertainment needs. I wish I got this right away.Apple TV
