Are You Being Understood?
No matter what you do in life, you will survive better by being understood when communicating with others.
Being understood requires that you take full responsibility on your communication. If you don’t, your intentions or ideas can very easily be misinterpreted by others. For that reason being, it is a must that you make sure that the terminal(s) with who you are in communication with really “duplicate” your intention(s) or message(s).
How to Make Sure You Are Being Understood
First and foremost to make sure you are being understood, use words that your interlocutor understands.
A sentence is the representation of a mental image, an idea. If there is a single word in the sentences you are using your interlocutor does not understand, he or she will not be able to “make the picture”. Being understood will not be made possible as a result.
If you express yourself often saying: “You know”, realize that people do not want to look stupid and will, most of the time, make a head movement letting you under the impression that they do.
Unfortunately, the truth might be that they are in total confusion in regards to what you are trying to get across.

Taking full responsibility on your communication would be more like: “Do I express myself clearly?”
This way you are offering to the person the possibility to say no. It is not their fault if they do not understand but yours as you did not communicate clearly your intention. This way, you can also rectify the matter preventing…
Being Understood Using Good Communication
Good communication DOES NOT mean talking a lot.
One can talk a lot and being understood will not be achieved. We see a lot of people doing so. Well! I do.
Communication is the relay of an idea or concept from one point to another.

If the person you are communicating with does not receive the same intention, concept or message you have in mind, can not make the “mental picture”, you are not being understood and you are simply not in communication.
A good communication cycle starts with the relay of a concept from a point of origin (point A), travels to the reception point (point B) which receives it and ACKNOWLEDGES that he/she understood.
Take note that the very last part is often missing. The acknowledgement. When this happens the originator leaves under the impression that he communicated properly but he omitted the part where he could be totally sure that the communication as been fully received and duplicated.
The Missing Data:
If in your communication you are omitting certain information that the other person would need to get the full concept, it leaves place to interpretation. It also, because of not being able to fully understand, creates a “mental vacuum” that the person will be trying desperately to get an answer for. This can cause many problems as the person will possibly grab any logical data to fill in the gap. These datum might not be the ones communicating what was needed for you to be fully understood.
The False Data:
The false data will create similar effects. The person you communicated with wants to understand. No one can fully understand what is false. Only the truth makes sense…
Simply put, if being understood is your goal, taking responsibility on the very simple facts stated above is going to help you tremendously.
Also, it is extremely important to be a good listener and take responsibility if you do not understand what is being communicated to you. DO NOT acknowledge anything you do not entirely understand and conciously let the other terminal under the impression that he or she is being understood if this is not the case. Clarify any misunderstood(s) as they come along.
COMMUNICATION IS LIFE!
COMMUNICATION IS THE UNIVERSAL SOLVENT.

Any misunderstood(s) and or misinterpretation(s) leading to unwanted/undesirable situations can be overcome if you communicate properly and long enough to understand what was not DUPLICATED .
Being understood is what we all want. Lets communicate properly all together…
Oh! little end note. More constructive and positive is your message, more likely it will be easy to understand. It creates LIFE…
