The Brilliance of Google

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

One of the largest companies online today is Google.  Since its official incorporation in 1998 Google is not just known for being a major search engine but is also is the proud owner of YouTube which is quickly gaining ranks on becoming one of the top rated social networking sites.  Along with their powerful search engine they provide powerful tools such as email, calendars, paid advertising, and web apps.

Google and The Social Network

We have all faced the fact that social networking has power for many reasons.  It has become the most powerful way to connect with people.  Places like Facebook and YouTube are used daily to open themselves up to new customers. Though social networking was born as social media, more and more businesses are discovering all of the benefits of using the social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

It wasn’t long before Google saw the power of social media and decided to join the ranks with their own social media platform called Orkut which carried more popularity in places like Asia and Latin America.  By 2011 Orkut had over 33 million users worldwide. Today the Google social media platform we have come to know well and is increasing in popularity every day is Google + which was introduced to the online world in November of 2011

How Can Google Help Your Business Online?

To go into what each Google tool does for a business could quickly turn into an eBook however, in a nutshell Google provides a wide range of tools that helps any business succeed both on and off the internet.  These tools help the entrepreneur among others to grow their business such as their well- known advertising programs which goes from the simplest ad to a rich media ad helping customers find businesses easier and putting extra money into the business owner’s pocket.

Google apps for a business can be to your benefit no matter whether you are in a home office, on the road, or sitting at a local Starbucks.  Google helps the business owner to become much more productive online with things such as email, calendars, and even documents.  A business owner can literally work on their documents from any mobile or stationery location, and safely and securely store their data.  For those who are interested in tracking the progress of their sites, there’s Google analytics which gives you detailed information from how many people are visiting your website to where they are visiting from and a map of where they went to while on your site.  Adsense of course is a great way to make extra income by placing ads onto your own website to drive extra income into your profits.  And, let’s not forget Google Offers which helps drive more customers your way by giving you the capability to offer discounts and deals to people in your area.

How Will You Use Google?

As you can see, Google is not just a search engine.  They strive to continue to make a better place for web users and with Chrome and Android they are sure to make it even simpler and faster to keep the business user in line with the fast track to success.  Do a search for yourself on any one of the many Google products and see what product might help you and your business.
