When you think of blogging, do you think, “I could never blog, I don’t know how to write”, or do you think, “I can write but how can I make money doing it?” These are just a couple of questions that more and more people are asking these with blogging becoming more and more popular. There are a couple significant types of business models to allow entrepreneurs that allow for profit making.
How Do I Do This?
Well, first and foremost you need to recruit some sponsors who will want to put ads onto your site. There are a couple different methods of going about this; one being by allowing someone do the legwork for you or, you can do the work yourself and keep all the revenue.
The first way is through a method like Google Adsense which today is a pretty common practice. The advantages to this program are off the charts really and it requires little effort on the part of the blogger to start to see profits.
Now this second method is where it kind of gets fun and takes that middle man out of the equation. Selling ad space directly to the companies who are willing to place banner ads or sponsor links onto your blog can take a bit of time, however it is typically more lucrative than the first method. If you have a large list or a lot of contact in your industry or even out of your industry but are within the topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this way. People who have a solid background in sales and have experience in pitching proposals can make a substantial amount of money by renting blog space to an interested company. The only problem with this method is that you have to actually have a built in readership before you can attract the advertiser, which might mean that you have to do several months of work before you can see profit.
Which would you rather choose?
There is no doubt that blogging is become a fast growing method as an easy way to generate income, many established companies are giving thought to how they can take part in the action. One way that companies capitalize on this blogging movement is to have blogs that provide a friendly face for their business and image. Often times a company will outsource a freelance writer such as Lifetime of Events to create articles that will really appeal to the customer. So I pose the question, “how will you making money blogging outside of whatever program you are in now?” Can you see yourself being a profit making machine?
