How To Make New Friends
There’s nothing wrong at all with being alone and hanging out at different places by yourself. However, being all by yourself 100% of the time can be depressing and can highly affect your self-esteem. We all know the saying “No Man Is An Island”. We all need our buddies, best friends and that one reliable and dependable friend who’s got your back when times aren’t as good as the usual.
Making new friends can definitely be a challenge to some. However, once you get the hang of it, it’s just a piece of cake meeting new people and making new friends.
There are tons of ways on how you can make new friends and sometimes even attract new friends into your life.
I’ll be sharing some of the ways I like to do when it comes to meeting new people and making new friends.
How To Make New Friends:
Get out of your house! – Making friends from home is pretty hard. Facebook or other social media sites don’t count. I’m talking about the traditional and fun way of making friends. So if you want new friends, you need to get out of your house.
Hangout at popular areas – Hangout at coffee shops, gaming stores, clothing shops, whatever interests you, go there. Why? People like going to places they like, if you go, then you’ll most likely meet more people you have something in common with.
Be yourself! – There’s nothing worse than acting like a total jerk as your first impression. Just be yourself. Don’t be scared if people don’t like it. They’re actually doing you a favor! If they don’t like the real you, then you can never like the real them. That’s not friendship! That’s like politics right there. lol
Go to local events – There a party in your area? A book signing? A cool movie? Whatever it is, if it involves a lot of people, get your butt there and socialize. Meet new people and make new friends. Don’t be scared just do it!
Take the first step forward – Don’t wait for someone to make the first move and talk to you. Sometimes, the other person is thinking the exact same thing. It will bring you no where. Just man up and take the first step forward. Be confident and don’t be scared. You won’t regret it especially if you make a friend that’s worth keeping. Next thing you know you’re friends with someone for 20+ years. Those are relationships you should be proud about!
Those are just some of the ways you can apply asap to make a new friend right NOW! Just get out there and experiment. Be yourself!
P.S. If you happen to make friends with alcoholics and people doing drugs, back out asap. You don’t need a problem in your life. Birds of the same feather flock together. You hang out with them, next thing you know you’re doing it too. Hang out with people who can deliver and bring positive energy at all times. Hang out with the people who are like you. Don’t change yourself to make a friend. It doesn’t work that way.
