The 55th Annual Grammy Awards.
So, last night was The 55th Annual Grammy Awards. It aired on various channels. ( I watched it on CBS). LL Cool J was the host this year. He did a wonderful job.
The Grammys is a time for celebrities alike to become rewarded for the work they have done throughout the year as far as music goes.
This year Grammys was bitter sweet, due to the marking of a year since the late great Whitney Houston passed. Last years 2012 tribute to Whitney was last minute, but well put together.
We send our prayers and condolences to the Houston family.
Grammys Award Opener:
Taylor Swift opened the event with her single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” which was also nominated for record of the year. She won the first Grammy of the night and was listed in three categories.
But the biggest performance of last night was Justin Timberlake, who last time performing on The Grammys was 4 years ago. Justin Timberlake took to the stage and sung his hit new single Suit and Tie which features the talented rap mogul Jay-Z. In case you missed it here is a video of the performance.

The Grammys best new artist of the year:
The Group Fun won their first Grammy for best new artist. Even though their debut album in 2009 ”Aim and Ignite” fell on deaf ears. The group came back strong and won our hearts in 2012. They are a true example of determination. Fun had two amazing singles for 2012 which are “We Are Young” and “Some Nights”
I look forward to hearing more music from them in 2013.
This year The Grammys offered some unique twists with having artists cover other artists songs.
Like with Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley sharing a performance together on stage.
Also Alicia Keys and Maroon 5 shared the stage.
Along with Rhianna and Coldplay.
I thought that was very clever.
I was very proud of all the nominees and those who actually took home an award. We as fans are only allowed to see minimal of our favorite artist lives so for them to be honored for their hard work is an accomplishment that I am pretty sure is rewarding to them.
