Easier said than done, right?!
I know. I agree completely.
To be living in the now, our mindset needs to be set on what, if anything, we can do in this moment in order to take steps toward our goals & dreams.
Worrying does not bring us closer, neither does blaming others, nor expressing our problems over & over to friends and family.
When we dispel our energies in the above mentioned actions, there can be little forward motion because our wheels are spinning in the past or in the future.
But our lives always have been, and will always be in the Present.
The present is the gift of life.
All cliches aside, you don’t need to take my word for it, for I’m still struggling with being truly present in every moment, too.
But I’m sure you can believe Eckhart Tolle when he says,
“All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present.
Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry – all forms of fear – are caused by too much future, and not enough presence.
Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of nonforgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.”
― Eckhart Tolle, author of The Power Of Now
I write this article today as I sit in the midst of a huge personal financial transformation.
I am letting go everything that I thought I knew once again.
There have been challenges around money, and my perception of it, my whole life. Perpetuated by the financial climate of the home of my parents, and their parents before them, and theirs before them…
Learning what I have about karma, this looks like the perfect place for me to practice being fully present regarding my own financial fears.
My mind wants to worry that there’s not going to be enough;
but I can now recognize this feeling as faulty because in fact,
I’ve never been deprived of anything I need in my entire life, and I am so grateful for all that I have that money cannot buy.
There’s always been a roof over my head, food to eat, water to drink, people to hug, art to create and happiness in my heart – so why is it that I let this feeling of scarcity guide my life?
The answer is, that as of today, I DON’T.
Today I choose to look that fear of poverty straight in the eyes, and share with you my belief that Eden has more than enough to go around.
There is enough for everyone’s need, and I know in my heart that more and more money will only help me to provide for the needs of others, who may then feel that they, too, have enough to help fill the needs of countless others.
Enoughness in the present moment is my new mantra.
I hope that you can shed your worries, fears, tensions and blame and just breathe into this moment with me and believe that:
There is more than enough to go around.
