Here’s a little “About ME” Jennifer Asada…

so you can get to know me and get a feel of where I come from…

see that I am a real, genuine, normal person (with my own strengths & weaknesses)…

and that if I can figure out this ‘making money online thing’,

then so can YOU!

So here you go, this is a short account that I submitted last March as part of a publication gathering the simultaneous writing of 60 women worldwide about themselves, their lives and aspirations:

Jennifer Asada, Galway, Ireland.

It’s exactly 15 years this month since I moved to Ireland. It has now become home, even though I am not Irish myself and have been separated 11 years from my kid’s dad who is Irish. I am a French national from a French mother and Japanese father, and I grew up in France but mostly in Japan.

I now live in a village on the beautiful west coast of Ireland with my two daughters’ age 13 and 18. I just turned 40 myself this past year and I’m loving it! Because of ‘bad choices’ in the past I used to believe that life would have to be a struggle and I was just going along ‘hoping for the best’, but over the past 5 years or so I’ve come to discover that it didn’t have to be that way and that it is actually up to me to GO and GET what I want and to make things happen.

I never finished college, have no qualifications or degree, so everything I do is self-taught.

Currently I conduct two completely different businesses: language teaching and sushi catering/courses both offline & online, in parrallel to that I am spending time on the computer continuously educating myself about internet marketing and how to build a strong online presence to create the financial freedom that my girls and I deserve.

My goal is to inspire other women like myself, single mums maybe who never had a chance to pursue a career but know that they have the abilities and that there must be something they can do to make things better for themselves and their children, to live the life they desire and deserve. My purpose is to let them know that THERE IS a better way!

Even though I am now reaching out to people via blogging, videos and social media using the internet, I also aspire to speak at live events in the future. Worldwide.

A typical day in our household would be something like this:

I get up with the girls in the morning to send them off to school, this is when we usually share our news and a few giggles while having breakfast, or it could end up in a screaming match, depending on everybody’s mood

I spend most of the mornings doing work online then I’m off to teaching in the afternoon, I try and have the dinner ready for when the girls come home, we have our family/dinner/tv time, then it’s back to work/homework.

On Fridays I spend the day at the market making and selling sushi, this is my day out away from the computer connecting with people in ‘real life’. I see this out-in-the-world time as an opportunity to learn and develop people skills that I can bring back and apply online too.

On Saturday mornings I go to my Kendo class (traditional Japanese martial art of the sword) which i took on about 8 months ago. Again, this allows me to not only reconnect with my Japanese roots but I find that it’s helping me discover things about myself that I feel need to be worked on (such as patience and discipline for example! lol).

The girls have busy schedules of their own between studying, friends and other activities but whenever we can we try and do something together, we go to ‘town’ (ie Galway city just 8 miles away), watch a movie, grab something to eat, walk around and meet people we know (you always meet people you know in Ireland!)

It can be a bit of a challenge to live thousands of miles away from home, my mother and 2 sisters and their families all live in Japan and due the distance we haven’t always been able to see each other as much as we would have liked to. But this is all changing now and it is my endeavour to make sure that my girls get to know their little Japanese cousins (my 2 sisters are both expecting girls this coming June!)

On the romantic side, I have attempted a few relationships over the years, some good and some not so good but hey, I don’t regret any of them as I see them as learning experiences and believe that each and every person in our life at any stage are there for a reason (yes, to teach us something in some way).

On a more positive note, I’ve recently met Mister Right for me! A very talented and absolutely gorgeous man (in my opinion). He’s in a very similar situation as myself, with a similar life path and aspirations, so we both understand each other and know how to make things work around our families, work and passions.

As you may have sensed from this short account, this is what I live by:

‘Life is what you make of it. You can do, be and have absolutely anything that you want as long as you KNOW this and ACT upon on it. So let’s make the most of it.’

Life is good and I’m loving it!!!
