My Life In Montana
- Out Our back Door Montana
So I decided to switch it up today and talk about where I come from! Good ole Montana! I was born and raised here and well some people just don’t even know Montana exist and if they do, they probably couldn’t start to tell you where. When my husband took me to Florida to meet the rest of his family his cousins girlfriend looked right at me straight faced and asked if we had ice water and rode around on horse! Now that’s funny! Yes we can make ice cubes in a freezer like the rest of the world and no we do not ride our horses all over the town (a few people do!) as our only means of transportation! We ride horses yes but there isn’t a “hitching post” outside of every establishment. It is an amazing place but the town I live in is not necessarily the place to live. Work is very hard to find and I mean VERY and it is a small town. Some people just aren’t cut out for that. I think are population is less then 4,000 but don’t quote me on that. No matter what the population is it is a small community. But with the small community comes a lot of valuable things. My kids get more one on one time with there teachers as the classes are not huge. You don’t have to wait in line for an hour for a espresso but there is no Starbucks here, trust me the local coffee is much better! Just to give you an idea of how small the town I am in is we DO NOT have a Wal-Mart! That should sum it up! But Even though my town is small the state is rich, and no I don’t mean money rich I mean adventure rich, good people rich, genuine rich. There are a few bigger cities like Billings and Bozeman, Missoula isn’t tiny either. And to leave this jewel unspoken would be a crime as far as I’m concerned and I’ve never been to jail and don’t plan on going!
What Montana Has To Offer
Now if living here isn’t your thing I tell you what it’s a hell of a vacation! From hiking to fishing, lakes, rivers, creeks, snow and everything that goes with it, camping, horse back riding, off road recreation, and yes hunting. It is an outdoor wonderland even if your not up to actually part taking just drive the views are gorgeous, the people are amazing and well it just doesn’t get any better.
Where I love in Montana
In my opinion there is nothing better then a day on the river (or creek) fly fishing being warmed by the sun and enjoying just being alive with family and friends. The Bitterroot River has to be one of my absolute favorite places just to chill and unwind from all of life’s crazy roller coaster moves. And in the winter when the warmth isn’t a option how about spending your day gliding down one of Lost Trail Powder Mountian’s amazing slopes? Sounds great right? and for dinner there is a steak house here up in the woods not to far just far enough to see the Montana wildlife coming over a ridge called the Skalkaho Steak House! Amazing food amazing view, amazing people! The best of what Montana has to offer! So my point is if your looking for a get away don’t over look this amazing Jewel, Montana. The place I do, and Forever will, call home.
