How To Reverse The Aging Process
For years scientists have sought to answer the question on why cellular aging occurs and how to slow or reverse the process of aging. Recent studies have revealed one common link behind almost all the symptoms of aging. This link is called a telomere. Telomeres are responsible for the lifespan of every cell within the living body. Essentially a telomere is DNA that is located at the tip of each chromosome. Every time a cell divides a little bit of the telomere is worn away and over time begins the process of shrinking, which results in the aging process experienced by all living beings. Newborn babies, for example have very long telomeres. As that baby gets older its telomeres begin to shrink and at the end of his or her lifespan that telomere will have shrunk to 1/3 of its original length.
What If You Could Actually Reverse The Aging Process?
Research has shown a link between telomere length and “old age” diseases. The shorter one’s telomere is the more likely he or she is to develop cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, macular degeneration, atherosclerosis, and even skin aging. In addition to age related diseases, shortened telomeres have also been linked to risk of cancer, dying of infectious disease, heart attack, obesity and insulin resistance, all of which can shorten one’s life span.
Up until recently science was convinced there was no certain way to prevent telomeres from shortening, thus the aging process was inevitable and irreversible. Recently two scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize for their discovering of the enzyme telomerase, which actually reverses the shortening of telomeres, and thus, reverse the aging process. In a study done on aged laboratory mice, they activated the telomerase enzyme. After only 30 days of having their enzymes activated telomerase reversed the aging process in the mice’s bodies. The mice were able to regenerate neurons in their brain, they produced new sperm cells, they also experienced increased sense of smell, and a reversal of intestinal damage. In addition to these remarkable health benefits the mice also experienced a dramatic increase in their life span.
According to this research, by activating telomerase in one’s body it can actually reverse the aging process and restore a person to their youthful health. It could essentially give anyone vitality and independence, instead of living out the short remainder of their life in pain and disease. Doesn’t it seem like more of us are being stricken with various diseases at a younger age? The scientists have indicated that the enzyme telomerase has the potential to increase the human lifespan to 125 years!
This great discovery can not simply be wasted on laboratory mice. How can you, too, activate your telomeres and experience a long, full, and nearly disease free life? Put the bounce of life back in your step!
