Are there Job Opportunities out there for the Unemployed?

job opportunities

Released on April 5, 2013 in a new job report, it was reported from the labor department that the unemployment rate has dropped from 7.7% to 7.6%.

Is this great news?

Not really.

The only reason that number went from 7.7 to 7.6 is because, literally, three quarters of a million Americans just gave up.

– William Wilson, the President of American’s for Limited Government

According to AOL,  the real unemployment rate would be more around 11.7%.

What Job Opportunities are out there for the Thousands Out of Work?

It has been shared that approximately 650,000 people have just stopped looking for work.  Those that have quit looking for job opportunities are no longer included in the unemployment rate.

CBS News reported the following:

Why Can’t We find the Right Job Opportunities?

Craig Alexander, chief  economist with TD Bank Financial Group, had this to say:

Unemployment dropped for all the wrong reasons…. It dropped because more workers stopped  looking for jobs. It signaled less confidence and optimism that there are jobs  out there.

Heidi Shierholz, an  economist at the liberal Economic Policy Institute commented,

It’s the lack of job opportunities — the lack of demand for workers — that is  keeping these workers from working or seeking work.

The Labor Department says  there are still more than three unemployed people for every job opening.

Job Opportunities are still out there.  You just have to find them.

That’s the hardest thing.  I know.  I was there.

Being unemployed…

Spending countless hours applying for job after job…

Writing and re-writing the resumes, cover letters…

UGH!  I Quit too!

It was more stressful looking for work then it was thinking about paying the bills.

Then I found something…

I discovered that I was worth more than that…

I realized that the only person that could change my situation was me.

I was not going to rely on fate, or luck.
