“iPhone not receiving calls a guide to help you with this problem”

My iPhone for some reason decided that it didn’t want to receive phone calls anymore it didn’t ring, there was no indication that anyone had rung me no miss call notification nothing.

I had to get it sorted and the thought of going and sitting in the apple shop at the genius bar opposite a young employee rolling their eyes and making me feel like an idiot because I couldn’t sort out the problem didn’t fill me will glee so I thought I would sort the problem out for myself.

I am a grownup surely it can’t be that hard to do?

The first place to look was Google, so I typed in iPhone not receiving calls and there I was faced with About 18,700,000 results and I knew it was going to take some time to solve the problem.
They were all forum posts and people where all asking the same question but no one seemed to be able to answer the problem.
The first bit of advice was to reset to factory setting so off I went to YouTube to find a video to help me. (I have added all the video’s on how to do all the steps further down the page.)
After spending over an hour backing up all my data and resetting my phone guess what it still wasn’t working.
Then I found in another forum reboot your phone and off I went again to YouTube to find the answer (you can probably tell by now I’m not very technically minded.)

Again this didn’t work. Then lots of people were saying it could be the network provider but I knew this wasn’t the problem because my daughter has the same phone and we are both with Vodaphone.
I was just about to lose the will to live after spending 3 hours trying to find the answer when someone had posted

TURN OFF YOUR PHONE AND TAKE OUT THE SIM CARD.
It was worth a try and after struggling with the key to get the sim card out of the phone I finally solved the problem. My iPhone was working again the calls weren’t going straight to voicemail and I was back into the land of the living.
Something to simple and it worked. A simple step that took less than 5 minutes.
In some ways it reminded me of the empowered network. Simple steps to make big things happen if you want to join the team
If the sim card trick didn’t work for you here are the other steps you could try.
So the first step is to back up all the information you have on your phone if you don’t want to lose all your pictures and contacts here are the two videos that helped
