It makes great reading and just goes to show that you should do your own research rather than just take what you read somewhere as fact!

“So apparently Banners Broker has been reported to the Canadian government officials who deal with fraudulant company. Also, Apparently Mastercard has been contacted and stated they have no idea who banners broker is. And reported to their fraud department.

These few people obviously have a vandetta against the site as they go to earth ends to make a fuss.

So I did a little investigating myself. A few weeks ago I spoke to mastercard and below you will find the information in regards to my investigation

#1.. I spoke to the HQ(BannersBroker) here in Canada as I only live 30ish minutes away. I have set up a date to go and visit their office and they are allowing me to take some pictures of the inside and out to an extent. As Im fairly busy and Im sure they are too, we agreed on a date of October 18. This is for people’s interest to be able to see the HQ and not being taken as a skeptic. I am merily interested and have NO reason to disprove the company at all. They seem very excitied to meet me.

#2. I called mastercard to verify. The first number I called and asked about them being affiliated with banners broker told me there are thousands of merchants around the world and she did not know. She then gave me a number to MasterCard international where again the gentleman explained he does not have those kinds of answers. I pressed him explaining “surely if there is a fraudulant company running around, mastercard would protect its interests, please tell me where I can contact them”. Again he said he wouldnt know where to start via telephone. He gave me an email which is a mastercard consumer report based int he United States.

I emailed them and this is their response

Dear Madam,

Thank you for contacting the Mastercard Consumer services. In regards to your enquiry, I can confirm that the company BannersBroker is registered with us. However, their interests seem based solely on the prepaid Mastercards.

Your question in regards to “how does a company get approved by mastercard”.

Let me answer this question for you. Mastercard has numerous agents in place that investigate companies on a daily basis especially companies interested in using our brand. They are investigated thoroughly and either approved or declined. In this case the company mentioned has been approved.

I hope this answers your questions.

Feel free to contact us with any further enquiries.

Legality Of Banners Broker

There’s a split of opinion as to Bannersbroker. There are those who feel it is lawful, as is Google ad sense. And there are others who say that Google ad sense doesn’t profit share collectively and that Bannersbroker is a Ponzi. I’m of the second opinion, though it would appear that Bannersbroker is presently profititable.

Banners Broker is a Canadian company that has been on the web since 2010, according to its Whois information. It will be 2 years old in October. Banners broker works along the lines of Google ad sense. That is, you can create banner ads which they will place on other member’s sites. When viewers click on your ad each impression generates a very small income for you. The more banners you pay for, the more impressions are possible. If you also have a website, you not only make the referral fee above, but you are sending traffic to your website that could generate sales. When you reach a certain amount of impressions, you get 50% goes to you and the other 50% goes into new panels. So the more your impressions, the more panels you get to have and the more you are earning. In that way, Bannersbroker differs significantly from Google adsense.

The Better Business Bureau , a non-profit organization which is usually where an American would turn first to learn something more about a North Americann company, is aware of Banner’s Broker. On their scale from A to F they have given it a B, which is a good ratiing . They downrated it because of the type of business it is, but also because it hasn’t been around a very long time. They admit, however, they have had nobody write in and complain about Banners Broker. (see review here).

But it’s pretty obvious that it contains the elements of a Ponzi scheme, which is, of course, illegal. And that is, you need more and more new people coming in, in order to pay off the people already involved whose banners keep doubling and doubling, etc.

Ponzi schemes utilize the money of new investors to pay the old ones. You can read the defininition of a Ponzi in the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners literature. Ponzi schemes are illegal, and while there is no indication at this time that BannersBroker is being targeted by either the Canadian or US governments, in most cases Ponzi schemes fall like a house of cards when the top earns more than the bottom can come up with. Most only last for a year or so, which means that even if the government never looks into its practices, Bannersbroker may not be around for the long haul. The Association says that most Ponzis collapse after about two years. Bannersbroker will turn 2 in October. Going strictly by the average, it is likely a bad time to make an investment.
