THE UFC
As a former martial artist and martial artist enthusiast the UFC has been labeled Mix martial arts short for MMA. Too many this sport is nothing more than a sport that has martial art, boxing, wrestling, elements but is not purely a martial arts sports.
This is a strike feasting, Ground pounding ground humping, Choke or break a bone to submission, Fight game.—->
The sport in MMA is good and will be good for a long time. They just got a contract to air the fights on fox which is a good thing for the sport. They also have pay per view events monthly I believe and even 2 times a month but that is rare they do.
There is a few martial artist in the UFC but its very little that are at the top of the fight game.
Anderson “The Spider” Silva
UFC G.O.A.T champion
George Rush Saint Pierre aka “GSP”
Second best in UFC now
BJ Penn who was on the top but retired after a few tough loses.
His BJJ is second to known ever in the UFC.

Just a few at the top of the fight game in the UFC that are real martial artist. Not wrestlers that study other arts or group the arts together in a short time to get what skills in the fight game they need in order to be effective. Lest face it folks if your a superior athlete with a wrestling back ground, can take a decent shot but can give a hell of a strike ranging from kicks to punches your name is John “Bones” Jones.
Now the UFC light heavy weight champion
This is what you can’t do in the octagon I was taught kung fu san soo “Chinese Boxing by grand master Jimmy Woo” RIP.
In this martial art you bite the nose, Kick a man in his groan, break a knee, break an elbow, even break a neck, gouging of the eyes all in the name of self defence only not sport.
That’s martial arts with no rules at all, If you try to hurt me I’m going to really hurt you and get away with getting harmed. The day in age when this Chinese secret got out to the world they made a sport out of it. Martial arts was not suppose to get out to the masses but it did.
Maybe when Bruce Lee.
A legend and considered the greatest martial artist ever brought his talents to america and began teaching the western world what has been in the asian region for hundreds of years.
Most of if not all of the martial arts that apply to Asia back then could not apply to the likes of the UFC. Just as Kung Fu San Soo could not apply to the UFC, we would get banned or disqualified from the opening bell. Knowing were the pressure points in the body to cripple it with one strike versus pounding you to submissions is a big difference. A simple punch to the nose if done at the right point can kill a man.
In UFC its not a bad sport its just killing the name of martial artist or aka “MMA” witch it is more of a wrestler’s strikers paradise.
In the end this new sport is more exciting to watch than boxing or other sports. The future of the UFC is going to be a bright and long lasting one. Dana White and his UFC will continue get the high ratings as his or Zuffa’s UFC breaks rating records of 2012.
