How often should I blog?

How many times a week should you blog?

Blogging is a great way to market your business. Usually the more you blog, the more traffic you get. So, should you blog once a week, twice a week, or maybe everyday? Once a day is the best way of building a relationship with your readers.

You need to concentrate on your content and building a relationship with your readers and NOT the number of people going to your blog. If people relate to you, they are much more apt to purchase something from you. A person they have a relationship with.

You need to keep your content fresh. Spice up your blog with pictures to make it more pleasing to the eye.

I believe blogging daily is the way to go, but that doesn’t work for everyone. Not everyone can come up with a fresh point of view everyday. Don’t burn yourself out. If you enjoy what you’re doing it is much easier. So, make your blogging a fun thing for yourself. You want to look forward to writing a blog post once a day or as often as you feel comfortable posting.

It’s natural for you to want people to stop by your blog and read your posts and leave a comment. That’s a good thing, but it’s wrong to pressure yourself to post everyday, if it’s not comfortable for you. If you’re just posting for the sake of posting, the quality of content will suffer and you’ll burn yourself out.

So, exactly how do you decide how often too post on your blog?

Decide the length of your posts. If you like posting everyday, make your posts shorter. 300-400 words If you’re going to post a couple days a week make your posts longer 800-1000 words. People don’t like reading long posts everyday of the week. Depending on how often you post on your blog, mix up the lengths of your posts.

Know your audience. How long to they have to read blog posts? How active are they on blogs? Are they reading during the work day or in the evening only?
Review your goals. If you want people to keep reading your blog and generating income—Keep it fresh!

When you finally decide on how many times a week you’re going to blog (one, five, whatever) be consistent. People expect to see posts Tues, Thurs. or everyday, and people will lose interest if you don’t post on a consistent basis.

There are no steadfast rules for posting on your blog. Test things out for yourself and see what’s comfortable for YOU. Don’t burn yourself out!

If it’s not comfortable for you. Don’t post on your blog everyday!
