Have you ever taken a 90 or 100 day challenge?

After joining the Empower Network of networked blogs I was challenged to blog for 100 days. I immediately leapt in and took the challenge. I knew it would be tough and I had many doubts in my head about whether I could do it or not but, I made the commitment and dove right in.

I Like to write and have started about 5 different blogs over the past 2 years or so. I find it hard to write and am a perfectionist so, to date, I haven’t done a lot of blog posts on all my blogs. This blog is my most serious one and I have pretty much abandoned all the other blogs. The one that was the most fun was when I went to Peru for a month in 2010 and did a blog post every day for 30 days about my trip.

Amazingly I did 10 straight days of blog posts before I missed a day! Somehow I pushed myself through those first 10 days and it seemed easier than I ever thought it could be. Then I hit a wall. On the 11th day I was tired and just could not think. I finally decided to go to bed vowing to write 2 blog posts on the next day. The next day I was down on myself, thinking defeating thoughts and generally had a lot of static going on in my head. I think this sapped my energy and, again, I was too tired to think and write.

I had missed Two Days in a row!

Today I am back writing this post and taking stock of what I have learned and what I will do going forward.

Taking a 100 day challenge is about commitment and perseverance

One thing I realized yesterday when reflecting on commitment was: I’ve always been good at committing but bad at making commitments. I have not committed to a lot of things in my life but, the things I committed to I excelled at and came out a winner every time! This was an astonishing realization to me which I am still turning over in my mind. Virtually every time I made a commitment I followed through, persevered, and did astonishing things and had astonishing results in my life!

1) I now realize that commitment is a tool I can use to inspire myself to perform to the best of my abilities.

2) Commitment provides me with passionate energy to meet my goals.

3) When I honor my commitments I strengthen my competence and confidence until I have Unstoppable Momentum.

It’s always too soon to quit!

That pretty much sums up my thoughts on perseverance. I have always been stubborn and most of the time don’t know when to quit. The only way you will ever possibly fail in Life is if you quit!

What I hope to get out of my 100 Day Blogging Challenge with Empower Network
