MyHerbalife Business
I tried my hand at Herbalife in 1987 when I was 25. The MyHerbalife websites for distributors would definitely not have existed back then as the internet wasn’t yet in the public domain. I don’t recall seeing a graphic interface or a mouse until 1991 at least.
MyHerbalife Experience
I signed up with Herbalife after seeing a flyer in a shop window. At the time my children were five and three and I was extremely keen to earn a living and still be able to spend time with them. It sounded like a wonderful opportunity, working from home and running my own business, being able to support my children and be happy.
I met up with a local distributor to find out more, getting a bus across town. My sponsor was making a good business out of Herbalife. An oak dining table was her workspace in the kitchen looking out onto a garden filled with trees, and I enjoyed learning about how the business worked. She had a car to deliver customer orders with – that was something I hadn’t thought of…
It seemed a bit dangerous to me going into people’s homes who I didn’t know as we’d only been in Edinburgh for a couple of years and I had no idea about bad areas except there was a lot of them. After visiting one of her customers in his home, in a sprawling housing estate, and finding that she was delivering to an old man who was infirm I felt horribly guilty for not considering that it might be an essential service for some folk. So I decided I’d at least give it a try.
My first hurdle was marketing – I had already decided to market an area close to where I lived but not in the immediate vicinity (which was a bad area) to get around the problem of not having my own transport.
MyHerbalife ‘leaflet’ – Don’t laugh!
I remember spending hours cutting neat squares of paper and writing out my adverts by hand using black and blue ink, thinking that I could afford leaflets when I got my first order. Delivering MyHerbalife ‘leaflets’ was equally time consuming, cold, and deadly dull and included the walk to and from my selected patch by means of a well lit path (no mobile phones for safety in those days either!). I think I only spent two evenings delivering them before realising that it wasn’t going to work for me with the resources I had.
Can you tell what I did wrong?! Run out of fingers? Lol.
I have learned such an enormous amount since then and it it sooooo much easier today to get leads and combine different businesses. Have a look at what these guys have to offer!
Thanks for visiting MyHerbalife memoires
