Did you ever feel it is time for a getaway? Doing the same old routine of working, housework, and cooking meals can get pretty old. Sometimes you feel like you are in the same rut and you need to bread out and do something different! So, try to go someplace and getaway!
This weekend getaway for me involves a resort and a reunion. I am meeting friends that I have not seen in years. A college sorority reunion is at this resort. For me, a getaway can be very crucial, as I am a caregiver to my husband, who has progressive multiple sclerosis. So besides having the same routine like most people, I have to add another three hours of care giving to my day. For this mini vacation, I had my sons help me by taking care of their father this weekend.
Here is what a mini vacation does for people.. It helps you break out from the old routines, and allows you to have some fun, without all the responsibilities. I do not have to cook, clean, work, or do yard work. I get to lounge at the pool or swim; I can golf or go on one of the tours that are scheduled. I choose to lounge at the poolside. Call me lazy, but I like to read a book and then go for a swim.
We get together with my college friends for meals and socializing. So for now, this weekend, is all about me, myself, and I. It is a time of rejuvination, joy, and meeting of old friends. I recommend a mini vacation to anyone who needs to break out of the old routine. So, in a few minutes, I will be meeting up with old friends and going out to breakfast, where we will catch up on what has been happening in our lives.
The next time you feel overwhelmed by the daily routines of life, schedule a mini vacation. Life is to short and can be tough, so it can be time for a weekend getaway!
