Simplify your life! Sounds easy to do, but life has gotten more complicated with technology, and more choices in everything from fast food restaurants to cars. Have you ever tried to downsize to one car, in your family? Not many years ago, most families made do with one car. It is probably doable, except it would take more compromise and scheduling between several people. Probably not possible, if two people have to drive to work; however if one person takes the train, it is a go! If you have older kids, you will probably need a junker, so that they can have a car. But think about it! One car, one insurance policy, and possibly equal sharing of the grocery shopping and other chores that need to be run.
Technology has made things more simpler, as far as getting information right away. Remember when computers first came into our lives, and your boss said there would be less paper? I do not believe computers made less paper! Computers have definitely given us more information faster; however, they have really dipped into the pocket book! In this category of computers, I include cell phones, Ipads, kindles, and whatever! Cell phones have some very nasty bills at the end of the month, between unlimited texting, and internet access! Okay, here is a way to simplify or scale down that cell phone bill. If your an adult, you probably do not need unlimited texting; and everybody who owns a computer does not need internet access on their phone.
Other ways to simplify one’s life is to seriously take a look at all the stuff, you have collected in your life. The attic, the basement, and everywhere in your house has too many things that are not necessary. Outside of frames with pictures, do we really need all those nicknacks, that are basically dust collectors? Take a look at your closets, your attic, and your storage space in your basement! You may want to take a look at your garage. The more places we have to store items; we fill it up to the rafters! Personally, I do not put anything in my attic. That way, I do not have to go up there and take stuff down for Christmas, or any other holiday! Get rid of things that you have not used in years! Get rid of the mentality, I will probably use this some day! You are more likely to forget that you have the item!
Your closet is probably a great way to start your clean out! Get rid of the clothes that you label your skinny clothes! Keep the classics; otherwise seriously take a look at the items you have not worn in a while. In fact, bring an unbiased person, to help you with the discarding process. If there are some clothes that are questionable, put them in a plastic bag, and store them in the basement. If after 4 months, you have not found the need to wear those clothes, get rid of them! Getting rid of things that take up space, makes one breathe easier!
Take a room at a time, and downsize! Pretend you are moving out of state, and you would have to pay the movers to pack up and transport these things. This will help you scale down in a hurry! Reevaluate your rooms, your bills, your cars, and figure out ways to simplify your life!
