Stories about ghosts!
Hey you remember the days when you had sleep overs you would stay up all night, and talk about ghosts? There was always the ghost stories that would include the mirror and some unsuspecting victim would open their eyes and see their own reflection in the mirror and scream bloody murder.
At least that is what we did when I was growing up. There were no video games, cell phones, texting, and computers. What we did have plenty of was imagination. So the spirit world held a fascination for us. We used to play with the ouji board; and ultimately the ouji piece would move indicating someone from the spirit world was around. So sleepover with ghost stories fell along with everything. The scariest movie I say growing up was Hill House! It was about the mean spirits that lived in this house, who tried to kill people!
We were obsessed in trying to scare ourselves. As I got older, the boys I hung around with tried to give us girls a real scare near Halloween. First, they took us out to the country to an abandoned house. We were altogether walking around with a flash light. When we went down to the basement, we saw a coffin and one of the boys popped out and scared us.
It did not stop there, the boys decided one Saturday night to take us to Bachelor’s Grove. This was a well known cemetery around the area that was supposed to be haunted. To this day, I claim this as my real story about ghosts. A guy named John and I walked down a trail with trees on both sides. Out of nowhere, this thin illuminated piece of material was floating in front of us about 8 yards ahead. You could see through this piece of material, and the light appeared to be coming directly from the material, not from any other light source. Needless to say, John and I ran out of that cemetery followed by the others. Again, I can never explain, what we truly had seen, but I cannot see how anyone could have set something like that up.
So that is my true story about ghosts and I am sticking to it! Bachelor’s Grove is locked and closed up at night, the only way to get into it is the day time. I can honestly say, I have no inclination to go to any cemetery at night to hunt for ghosts!
THIS WILL NOT SCARE YOU!
