Drop a phone in water and the advice comes back as rice, not a hairdryer. That level of practicality runs across a blog that will happily cover a laptop purchase, a share portfolio, solar panels and a weekend in London without changing gear.
The technology posts are the best of them, because the writer is genuinely interested. A Linux desktop reviewed properly. A phone from a manufacturer most people have never heard of, tested and written up. Handset settings almost nobody finds, including making the camera flash blink for a silent notification.
The investing post is sensible in an unfashionable way. Write the plan down, decide in advance when you sell, set a budget you will not exceed, and stop expecting anything to happen overnight.
The blogging and opportunity posts are the weaker half and promote a platform he belongs to.
Come here for the technology write-ups and the travel notes. Read the investing post if you are about to buy your first shares and want somebody to slow you down.
