Where Do I Start With a Web Design Blog?
Never be intimidated by the web design blog that are on the net. Always keep it simple and do your research if you plan to build a blog or website. Try peeking at other great looking websites for ideas (though it can’t hurt to “steal” some good tips from others), when you can do it yourself.
This is why I’m sharing this article with you today in hopes to help you come to grips with some of the basic principles of web design and end up with a stunning website.
Every good web design blog you come across on the Internet will have its linking sorted out. You must make sure all the links are pointing to all the right directions and that every one of those links is functioning properly.
Web Design Blog Tips – Make A Plan
Make a sound, realistic plan and set clear goals. If you start out building a website without any goals in mind, you will quickly find yourself running all over the place not knowing what to do, and wasting valuable time.
You can always avoid this by the use of proper planning. Remember the famous saying “you never plan to fail, you simply failed to plan”…
One more thing when it comes to hosting. If you don’t know what you are doing, let someone else host your site for you. If you decide to host it yourself, you may come across problems which will take away the precious time you could using to improve the security of your site, content or the looks of it.
One thing that I did when I got starting online was that I hired smart people to help me with my technical tasks. I’m not very technical and am very confident knowing that I can hire the right team to help manage my web design blog.
If you are a beginner, looking for various platforms such as WordPress or Joomla, would be a good idea. If you are not an experienced coder, I don’t recommend you take this job upon yourself as it will certainly take away much of your time; but you can always outsource that job as well, just make sure you get competent people you can trust.
Try and research other the design of other web design blogs to get an idea of how they have their sites put together. You may notice that you will see very little popups, pounders etc. since they tend to irritate people. And if you want visitors to keep coming back, you need to make their staying enjoyable and informative. Using popup for navigation sounds like a bad idea to me, but if you are persistent you can do some testing and then decide.
If you have a web design blog, make sure you are always paying on time and develop a good relationship with the hosting and other items relating to your blog. If you develop a reputation of a client who is always late with his payments, they will make others their priority and not help you with your problems as fast as you might like it.
There is a lot of talk about using flash on your website. The general rule of thumb is to use as little as possible as search engines can’t process or “understand” them properly and could potentially hurt your rankings.
Again, the best thing that I did was surround myself with very talented people within the industry who helped me to get my sties up and running in not time. My goal was to always provide value to everyone who is searching for success online. If this is you, I challenge you to reach out to me so that I can help.
In this article, I have armed you with some knowledge, in hopes it will help you produce better, more successful sites. And remember, only mimic other web design blog if it is going a good job and is successful in the market it is in.
