Personal Finance Advice From Me To You

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

People often come to me, seeking personal finance advice and I am always glad to help. This is why I’ve decided to write this article for you today.

I will be giving you personal finance advice, but you need to look at the bigger picture, use common sense, and see that this advice can help you with your life as well as your finances.

The best personal finance advice I can give you to start with, is to always think about the rainy days. Life will hit you on the blind side when you least expect it, so make sure you have some “emergency savings.”

Best Personal Finance Advice is Savings Automation

TIP! Not even the best personal finance advice will keep you 100% safe. There will always be some unexpected issues and difficulties. Be ready and don’t take them personally.

A sound, personal finance advice that helped me over the years is to set up an automatic savings fund. That way, you don’t even have to worry about it, you might even forget about it, but in the time of trouble it will be your savior.

Overdraft protection is one more safety measure you can employ. If your balance is always around zero, overdraft protection will save you quite a lot of money on various fees, in the long run.

TIP! Start saving as soon as you get your first paycheck (personal finance advice I hold dearly)! Learn to live within your means and you will be safe. Many people get in financial trouble when trying to live a fancy life, buying stuff they can`t afford; don’t be one of those people.

Patience and discipline are one the foundations of your financial safety and working on developing them is, perhaps, the best personal finance advice I can give you.

Spending money is easy, but if you learn to delay instant gratification, you will be able to manage your money better.

Solid financial plan and alcohol don’t mix, it is pretty obvious but I felt the need to address it. When it comes time to sort out the bills and decide what to do with your paycheck, water is your best friend!

Another thing you should not be messing with is taxes. If you can`t take care of them by yourself, get some help or at least get someone to teach you. You can get the best personal finance advice in the world, but if you don’t know how to deal with taxes, you are heading for disaster.

One more thing – use your credit card wisely! It is not a bad idea to try and get a card that offers some sort of a reward program. If you are taking care of your bills regularly, why not take advantage of it and score some cool prizes such as airline miles, special discounts and lower prices?

Putting Personal Finance Advice Into Practice

But, your best bet when looking for good personal finance advice is to find experienced people in the financial industry. Sure, their services may not be cheap, but think about the long term gain that information will give you and you will justify the extra coaching fees.

TIP! Always payout previous debt before taking on a new one! If you start taking loans to pay off previous debts, you will quickly find yourself in a vicious circle with no way out.

As I’ve said before, taking care of your finances involves a great deal of common sense and situation assessment. If you are running low on money, think of some of the “luxuries” you can live without; that’s just common sense personal finance advice.

Also, look for coupons and special deals that can save you money. Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed for using them, many people do; besides, there is nothing wrong in taking in paying less if you can.

In addition, try to go with the store brands, rather than the name brands. The quality of the products is about the same but there is a significant difference in price. Again, this is nothing to be embarrassed about.

If you have any debts, or loans, a good personal finance advice would be to always try and maintain regular payments, this will safeguard you from those dreaded late fees and interests.

I tried to keep these tips as basic as possible so they can apply to a greater number of people. Of course, people and situations are different, so I understand I can’t help everyone.

This is why you should always be on a lookout for a good personal finance advice and never forget to use common sense.
